How to Enable Pop-ups

Enabling Pop-up Windows in Internet Explorer

Pop-ups must be allowed in your web browser and other installed pop-up blocking programs including third-party toolbars (e.g., Google, Yahoo!, AOL) for the University Book Store to display course content, important messages, and Help.


To allow pop-ups in IE for text.uwbookstore.com

  1. Go to Tools(if you do not see Tools, press the Alt key to show the menu bar)> Popup Blocker and Select Pop-up Blocker Settings.

  2. In the Address of web site field, type https://text.uwbookstore.com/

    Then click Add.

    The URL will appear in the list of allowed sites.

  3. Click Close.

Enabling Pop-up Windows in Firefox (Mac/Windows)

Pop-ups must be allowed in your web browser and other installed pop-up blocking programs including third-party toolbars (e.g., Google, Yahoo!, AOL) for the University Book Store to display course content, important messages, and Help.


To allow pop-ups in Firefox for text.uwbookstore.com

  1. On the top right of the browser click the Menu button then click the Options icon.

  2. Click Privacy & Security, scroll to Permissions, and leave the Block pop-up windows box checked, then click the Exceptions button to the right of that option.

  3. In the Address of web site field, type https://text.uwbookstore.com/

    Click Allow and the URL will appear in the list of allowed sites.

To allow pop-ups in Safari for text.uwbookstore.com

  1. In Safari, navigate to https://text.uwbookstore.com/, open the Safari menu and select Preferences.

  3. Click on Pop-up Windows in the General menu.

    Then click on "Block and Notify" in the Currently Open Websites menu, and select "Allow"

Enabling Pop-up Windows in Chrome

By default, Google Chrome blocks pop-ups from automatically showing up on your screen. When a pop-up is blocked, the address bar will be marked Pop-up blocked Pop-up blocked.

If you see the Pop-up blocked image in the address bar:
  1. Click on the icon to open up a dialog box.
  2. Click the radio button for "Always allow pop-ups and redirects from https://text.uwbookstore.com/
  3. Click Done

To allow pop-ups in Chrome for text.uwbookstore.com

  1. At the top right, click on the three dots and then Settings.
